About the Fellowship

Philly Community Wireless (PCW) operates free, no-cost public Wi-Fi across Norris Square, Fairhill, and Kensington: a community-controlled network with hundreds of access points and over 7,600 unique users a month. The Public Internet Fellowship invites local artists, technologists, and residents to use our network as a platform for community media, supporting new ways of empowering communities to come together in shared spaces to use the internet to better their lives and spaces.

Funders

Funded support for the Public Internet Fellowship pilot is provided by People’s Media Fund through its Future Fund. Additional in-kind funding from the William Penn Foundation and the Claneil Foundation have made this initiative possible.
