Our Service Process

Philly Community Wireless works with PhillyWisper, a local wireless internet service provider, to install rooftop antennas that we use to provide a free Wi-Fi network to neighborhood residents and public spaces.

The first step in our service process involves assessing whether we can provide our network at your requested location. If we are able to service your location, we will coordinate an installation visit, which may occur in multiple stages over several days.

Philly Community Wireless provides network maintenance to improve or repair existing set-ups. If you notice an issue with your connection, please reach out to us. For more information on what an install involves, visit our Installation documentation.

How Long Does It Take?

Installations can sometimes take an extended period of time to schedule and complete, up to several months. We are expanding our network coverage every week, but we have more demand than we can meet and a variety of obstacles, including line of sight, can impede our network’s reach. We will work with you to provide you and your neighbors with free Wi-Fi service as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience and assistance as we build out and maintain our network.
